Van Alstyne Recreation Center - Grand Opening Ceremony

I’m so excited that the City of Van Alstyne will be having a Van Alstyne Recreation Center – Grand Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, November 6th at 4PM. The newly updated Recreation Center is located at 588 W. A Denton Drive in Van Alstyne. The original building was built in 1936 and cost under $25,000 to build. The city council approved remodeling of the building on April 9, 2024 and the budget was set to not exceed $500,000. The city used the community development fees to renovate the gym into a recreation center.

All residents of Van Alstyne are invited to come to the Van Alstyne Recreation Center – Grand Opening Ceremony and check out the new facility, which will have 2 pickleball courts, 1 basketball court and 1 volleyball court. It will also provide a temporary home to the Van Alstyne Senior Center while S. Main Drive is under construction. This renovated recreation center has a residential kitchen, large classroom and stage. It is a wonderful space for large indoor functions.
